SCHIRMER HOUSE PRISON RAPE ELIMINATION ACT (PREA) INFORMATION
Center for Women in Transition has a zero tolerance policy towards sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and sexual harassment by residents or staff. This includes any sexual act, touching, comments, or gestures. Residents have the right to be free from sexual abuse and sexual harassment in this facility, and to be free from retaliation for reporting any incidents.
If you are a victim of sexual assault, sexual misconduct, or sexual harassment, you can report it in one of the following ways:
All reports will be investigated. Criminal incidents will be referred to and investigated by the St. Louis police department. The agency will support any criminal investigation and will conduct an administrative investigation of all reports. If you are in need of rape crisis counseling, please notify staff so that they can assist you. If you want to receive confidential counseling, you can contact the following agency:

"The YWCA is a mandated reporter under Missouri law and may be obligated to report to law enforcement if there is a suspicion of abuse of a child, vulnerable adult, or other eligible adult. Unless reporting is mandated, all services are strictly confidential. In no event will any information be shared with Schirmer House staff unless a signed release of information has been acquired. Services will be provided at the YWCA's Women's Resource Center and will not be monitored by Schirmer house staff."

- Notify your parole officer
