'Tis the Season of Giving!
Can you imagine being permanently defined by your very worst decision on the very worst day of your life? That’s the reality for women who have served their time for the crimes they committed, yet never shed the stigma of being someone who has been incarcerated.
Where some see prison garb, the Center for Women in Transition sees the faces and lives of real people—people who often are unhealed from a history of trauma and who lacked access to health care, mental health services, and stable housing.

How can you help during the coronavirus outbreak?
We know times are hard.
People are concerned about their families' health, financial, and emotional well-being. We encourage everyone to do what they need to do to get through this difficult time.
However, if you feel you have a little extra to give, we could really use your help.
Due to COVID-19, we had to change the format of our biggest fundraising event of the year, Beautiful Transformations Gala & Auction, which provides us with key support for our mission. Because of this, our gross revenues were $90,000 less than budgeted.
The Center for Women in Transition depends on the support of the community to continue offering much-needed services to justice-involved women as they make transitions back to their families and communities. We work on the front line for our clients so that their basic needs are covered-- like a home, food, medical needs, and the tools to succeed in life after jail and incarceration.
Incarcerated people are particularly at risk of exposure to the coronavirus. The 35 women in our houses are facing job losses, uncertainty, changes in routine, and isolation from their support systems.
Now more than ever, our work is critically important. We cannot stop providing services. We cannot stop asking for support because our women need us. Please help support our efforts today.
