Sarah joined the CWIT family in 2009 and now serves as the Director of Restorative Programming. Her favorite part of the work is getting to know the women who are doing the hardest thing possible, changing almost everything about their lives from the inside to the outside. The privilege of being a companion on this journey with our clients is what keeps her coming back to work each day.
Sarah oversees our restorative programming, which looks like a variety of things. Some of our women benefit from our collaboration with Perennial, run by Jenny Murphy, and learn about eco-friendly woodworking, art, design and furniture repair. Other women participate in weekly talking circles to process personal growth issues and repairing relationships. A monthly craft/sewing class at Schirmer House allows women there to express their artistic and creative side. Here at CWIT, we are in the business of restoration, and for all of us that must begin on the inside. We repair, heal and prepare our selves to go out into the world and bring our best selves to be in relation with others. Join us on our journey of restoration and volunteer, donate (we can't do it without money!), or come to an event and get to know the fabulous women of CWIT.
